Ambrosius is an Abyssinian longhaired cat living in a house in the forest. He's an important character in the second book of the series, Francis, collaborating with Francis during his investigations.

Personality[]

Ambrosius is characterized by his intelligence and writing skills, but also by his constant babble.

Role in Francis[]

In reality, Ambrosius was attempting to obstruct Francis's investigation, staging to frame a black cat named Hugo to blame him for the murders. He's aware of the true identity of the killers and he's partly responsible for the killings. The wild she-cats were instigated by Ambrosius's words and even if it wasn't planned by him, the state of despair and awareness of their doom forced the wild felines to commit the murders.

Ambrosius meets an ironic end when he is murdered by the wild cats before their departure because they don't want to leave anyone knowing the truth about them alive.
